The Ministry of Railways in a modification to notification S.O. 4166(E) dated 20th September, 2024, said that there will be two competent authorities responsible for land acquisition in the 83.17-km 3rd line between Renigunta and Gudur( notified as a Special Railway Project).
In a gazette notification on March 12, 2026, the Ministry said that the competent authority for land acquisition for lands falling under Gudur Mandal of Andhra Pradesh would now be Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Gudur.
The notification said that Gudur Mandal which was earlier under Tirupati district now fell under SPSR Nellore District consequent to the reorganization of districts and jurisdictional changes in Andhra Pradesh.
However, for those remaining mandals falling under Tirupati district for the 83.17-km 3rd line between Renigunta and Gudur( notified as a Special Railway Project), the Joint Collector, Tirupati shall continue to remain the competent authority for land acquisition, the notification clarified.
Renigunta- Guntakal 3rd and 4th Line
Meanwhile, the Central Government on March 11,2026 notified the 307.97-km 3rd and 4th line between Renigunta and Guntakal as a Special Railway Project for land acquisition in the state of Andhra Pradesh in the districts of Tirupati, Annamayya, Kadapa and Anantapur for providing National Infrastructure for a public purpose.
The notification comes into effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette (11th March 2026).
