SR: General Manager Conducts Annual Inspection in Chennai Division

General Manager, Southern Railway conducted Annual Inspection of Jolarpettai- Arakkonam section in Chennai Division

Shri John Thomas, General Manager, Southern Railway conducted annual Inspection today (i.e on 24.01.2020) in Chennai Division between Jolarpettai to Arakkonam and reviewed the Division’s performance.  Shri. P. Mahesh, Divisional Railway Manager, Chennai Division, Principal Heads of Departments and other officers accompanied the General Manager.

 Shri John Thomas, inaugurated various staff facilities at stations like, new Chief Crew Control office , new RRI cabin, Officers Rest House. Holiday Home at Yelagiri  and three  Gang Rest Rooms  was also  opened through Teleconference.

In Jolarpettai he inspected Renovated Health Unit, running room Ediayampatti colony, Routine Overhauling Shed, Solar Panel and Type 2 Quarters. He participated in the Tree plantation programme

The team inspected major and minor bridges in the section, new escalators, Solar panels, LC gates, electrical sub-stations, new digital coach guidance system etc and conducted Speed trail between Gudiyattam-Katpadi section.

 At Katpadi he inaugurated garden and inspected Station, new escalator, retiring rooms, VIP lounge, AC waiting hall etc

            At Arakkonam General Manager Inaugurated the new RPF office, Chief Health Inspector Cabin. He has inspected  Passenger amenities  ,new Booking office and the circulating area at the station.

Shri John Thomas also addressed the Press and Media at Katpadi Junction and  Arakkonam Junction, detailed about the developments taking place in Chennai Division and various projects in the region. General Manager interacted with Passenger Associations and commuters at various stations in the sections.

During the course of inspection, General Manager declared cash awards for the  untiring efforts of the employees in adopting changes with initiatives to enhance passenger safety and other outstanding works.
