SCR: Accord Top Priority to Ensure Safe Movement of Trains, says GM

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted extensive review o­n the safety aspects of train operations in the Zonal jurisdiction. The subjects during the review includes Track fitness, Speed restrictions, Signaling system etc.,

He also made a detailed review o­n carrying out the rescue operations at the earliest and mobilization of essential equipment during disaster. Principal Heads of the Departments also participated in the weekly safety meeting held today i.e., 18th November, 2019 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded attended the meeting through video conference.

Shri Gajanan Mallya advised the officials to focus o­n all track fittings, weld failures, Signal failures and instructed to carry out the joint inspections over the zone to find the root causes for failures. He also advised the officials to ensure proper rest for the loco pilots, guards and other staff to work in a stress free atmosphere.

He appreciated all the DRMs for maintaining good punctuality results compared to Railway Board targets. He also reviewed the punctuality of some of the Passenger trains and instructed to take corrective measures to improve the punctuality further. o­n the Loading aspect, the General Manager advised all the Divisional Railway Managers to monitor it personally and draw an action plan to attain optimal loading duly ensuring safe working.
