SWR Runs Six More Shramik Special Trains With 7840 Passengers To Their Hometowns On Monday

To ensure that citizens wanting to return to their home towns after relaxation of Lockdown in Karnataka , SWR on Monday operated 6 more Shramik Special trains today from Bengaluru area. In all SWR has now run 27 Shramik for migrant workers, students and families to return to their home towns.

The first Shramik Special train with 1,519 passengers from Chikbanavara left for  Gorakhpur at 16.55 hrs.  Passengers were seen waving to the railway and security personnel when leaving for Gorakpur.  Announcements were made to caution passengers to maintain social distancing and wear masks in the train.

The second train from SWR to New Jalpaiguri (West Bengal) from Malur left at 17.30 hrs with 1,419 passengers. These passengers were mostly migrant workers with their families and children returning to their hometown. All passengers were happy that Railway and State Govt were running special trains to help them return to their hometowns.

The third Shramik special from Chikkabanavara to Lucknow left at 18.35 hrs with 1,200 passengers.  Passengers were happy with all arrangements taken by State Govt for transportation to station and smooth conducting of formalities.

The fourth Shramik special from Malur to Barauni (Bihar) left at 19.52 hrs with 1520 passengers on board. Most of the passengers were migrant workers eagerly waiting to return to their native town in Bihar. The passengers were enthusiastic and were heard chanting slogan of  Bharat mata ki Jai at train left for Barauni.

The fifth Shramik special train from Chikkabanavara to Una (Himachal Pradesh) left at 20.00  hrs with 643 passengers. The passengers were happy and thanked the Security and Railway staff for making arrangement of food and water.

The Sixth Shramik Special with aprox 1540 passengers left Malur for Bakora in Jharkand at 21.46 hrs.

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) have granted permission for movement of the stranded citizens including migrants labourers, workers, students, tourists to return to their native towns.  As per the list provided by State Government, arrangement of train services for aprox 7840 citizens were made today to return to their native place from Bengaluru.
