For the differently abled/ Divyang passengers, Railways has provided earmarked accommodation meant for them in different trains for their convenience in entraining/ detraining and during travel period. Sometimes, it is observed that, the common passengers travel in such coaches which creates inconvenience to the Divyang passengers.
To curb such unauthorised travel, Eastern Railway launches drive in its jurisdiction throughout the year. Likewise,on 03.12. 2019, on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a special drive was conducted against the travellers travelling unauthorizedly in the coaches meant for Divyangjans over the jurisdiction of Eastern Railway.Due to the drive, a total of 886 nos. of travellers were prosecuted under section 155 of Railways Act.
Eastern Railway requests all common passengers not to travel in those compartments which are reserved for others.
